Tanesh's Mekel Recruitment Mod (02-03-2005)
Review by tk102

Do you remember Mekel, the Sith student from Korriban who helped you face down Jorak Uln? There was a point in the game where you could almost convince him to turn back to the Light. From that small piece of dialog, modder Tanesh drew inspiration to create an outstanding recruitment mod.

This mod will allow you to replace Zaalbar with Mekel, who is still a Sith at heart. This is easily noticeable in the dialogs with Mekel and the banter that Mekel shares with other NPCs throughout the game. Tanesh took great care in eliminating all Zaalbar references from dialogs after Mekel is recruited, replacing them with Mekel's interjections and NPC reactions to the Sith student. New journal entries are also added during the characters talks with Mekel, leading up to new sabers and saber crystals if the dialog choices are selected correctly.

Svösh's His and Her Uzi's(11-21-2004)
Review by T7nowhere

This week Mod is Master Svösh's His and Her uzi's. Inspired from numerous requests for "real" guns svösh brings us some good old Fashioned Low tech uzi's with a Star Wars Blaster'esk feel to them. This mod includes two brand new models made specifically for KotOR from scratch. If you even mildly like useing blasters in KotOR then you have to have these energy packed uzi's.

Any modder that has Built a model for a game knows at times it's a real pain to get it just right. With this one it could not have been better. A great mod from a very Skilled and Talented Man.

T7nowhere's Revan's Mask Plus + (11-15-2004)
Review by Darth333

Want to look like Darth Revan? Then this may just be what you are looking for. Our well known modder and moderator T7nowhere made a great item package for Darth Revan's fans.

The "Revan's Mask Plus +" mod includes the long awaited Revan's mask, Revan's Robes and a new lightsaber crystal, the Forge Crystal.

Without any previous modeling background T7nowhere made Revan's mask model and texture from scratch and it just looks great. A pioneer of KotOR modding, T7nowhere also removed the cape from the original Revan robes that Revan wears in the cut scenes. And, this mod does not simply add items to the game: you do not need to cheat to get this full Revan Fashion set....You may have a surprise if you visit Korriban after the Leviathan..and you may not get those items so easily.

You can now play as Darth Revan with those items and use force lightning as you wish since T7nowhere also took care of fixing the lightning animations for the incomplete Darth Revan model, something that was impossible to do not long ago.

Prime and bneezy's Imperial Stormtrooper Conversion (10-28-2004)
Review by T7nowhere

Do you want to bring some of the Original Trilogy into KotOR well now you can.

The Featured mod this week is Prime and bneezy's Sith to Storm trooper conversion. This was one of the most anticipated KotOR mods recently and has been well received by many. After permission was given by Haplash to use his Storm trooper helmet, Prime skinned it and with bneezy's help of converting the model and porting it into KotOR. Although Prime did not stop there He went further and decided to make an armor to go with the new Storm trooper helm and within no time a Storm Trooper Armor for the PC was Magically in KotOR. The second part of this mod started with what seemed like a simple idea which was to turn all the Sith Troopers into Storm troopers. However it turned out to be a bit more trouble some than expected. The bugs in the initial tests were apparent, but through the group efforts of many Holowan Modders this mod was completed and released for all to enjoy.

Grif Vindh's Roleplay Padawan Mod (10-18-2004)
Review by T7nowhere

This Mod is from a new comer to Holowan. Grif Vindh's Roleplay Padawan Mod is Based on Achilles' Padawan mod, which in turn is based on Talchia's Padawan Mod who based his mod on Lil' Jawa's Revan Reincarnated mod.

Lil'Jawa's mod was the first of this type of mod (making the PC a jedi from the start) and showed many of us what could be done very soon after KotOR was released. Not long after Talchia released his Padawan mod which turned you into a jedi and instantly transported you to Taris. Recently Achilles made his own Padawan mod Based on Talchia's and which led to Grif Vindh to make the idea of the PC being a Jedi or "Padawan" From the start of the game a little more plausible by adding some back story to set up why you can use Force Powers and the reason you are a jedi but no one remarks about it.

This mod removes the tutorial aspect of the Endar Spire and adds depth and RP value to the first level of the game. Trask is no longer some random bunk mate that tells you how to move around, but instead he gains new value in the story and he makes that the confrontation with Bandon later on all that is much more meaningful. If you want to start the game as a Padawan but retain the natural arc of the story this is a must play.

Seprithro’s Jedi Battle Armor (10-09-2004)
Review by T7nowhere

In times of War even a Jedi Can find themselves faced with the necessity to put away their customary Jedi robes and out fit themselves with armor that will protect and look stylish at the same time.

In order to equip this protective gear you must be proficient wearing heavy armor and have a level 3 implant installed.

Armor smith’s notes: Through the use of implants, this armor can monitor and regulate every function of the host's body. A constant flow of fresh adrenaline is pumped through the host's body, insuring that the body is always at its peak performance.

POV of a modder: This is a very powerful armor that unless you’re using the hardcore mod you will completely dominate your enemies, but it just looks awesome and it’s a must for at least one Female Jedi in your crew. Included in the mod is separate armor for each skin tone.

Redhawke's Planet ORD Mandell (10-02-2004)
Review by T7nowhere

To quote a well known Scoundrel “I expect to be well Paid, I’m in it for the money", and money is what you shall receive if you decide to travel to ORD Mandell. However it does not come easy. The Fights are tough and Action Packed. In every corner the Potential for death awaits you. But fear not Even if you are poorly equipped to start out by the end you will have enough booty to fuel an army, this is something any Dark Lord Should consider when planning to Conquer the Galaxy. Can you make it through ORD Mandell in one piece?

Viewpoints From the perspective of a modder: The mod is a collection of modules from a few different Parts of KotOR, despite being very familiar to all, Redhawke Managed to set the atmosphere of a new planet while using the somewhat limited Resources of the Game. There are a few minor bugs that some have reported, but despite this the areas are cleanly laid out and most will be able to play problem free.
